People love to listen to what children and young adults say because what you say is interesting and fresh. Yet, you must wonder why these same adults keep saying ‘Shhhhh’ all the time. I am sure you don’t like this at all. Why is it necessary to keep quiet or speak softly? And why is it even more important when you are in a public place? Read on to understand and practice the correct thing.
It is good to have fun and enjoy yourself and it is especially important for you to share your thoughts, ideas and opinions. At the same time, you must remember that there are others around you and one person making a lot of noise in a public place can be disturbing. If you speak loudly, others may not be able to have their own conversations and it can be irritating.
When you are in a public place, please don’t shout out to people. Instead, walk up to them and speak so that only s/he can hear you. You must shout out only if there is an emergency.
The tip to keep in mind is to make sure that your conversation or what you say is heard only by the people who are supposed to hear it.
If you want to ask for chocolate when at the supermarket, only your parents need to know about it. The aunty or uncle at the next shelf is not going to buy that chocolate for you anyway. So please be polite and speak at a volume that can be heard by your mother or father only.
